Synopsis

Galactic Gunners is a 3D first person shooter in which the player uses attachments on a physical controller in order to change guns in the game. The attachments will turn the controller from a blaster, to a zinger, disruptor or to a vaporizer. To complete the game the player will have to fight hordes of aliens, and complete the objectives. Objectives include delivering an item and destroying an object within a time limit. Every few objectives completed the aliens will get stronger and harder to defeat. Some aliens will be resistant to gun types and will take less damage.

Roles and Responsibility

Programmer:

  • Created a controller that uses the Makey-Makey and the Nintendo Switch Joycons to control the gun in game.

  • Coded enemy AI that patrol, chase and attack the player. 

  • Different objectives for the player to complete and for enemies to either attack or protect during the objectives.

Designer:

Artist:

  • Designed an interactive AI that is intended to challenge the player, while reacting to it's enviroment.

  • Multiple puzzles that are intresting and provided varity to the gameplay. 

  • A time travel mechanic that allows for more creative puzzles.

  • Created 5 different enemy types that vary in size, colour and shape.

  • Drew UI elements that are themed to the game aesthetic.
